ADD IMAGE TO TEXT…

I came across this wonderful & easy tutorial on Simple Street (blog) It honestly took me less than 5 minutes & I am slapping myself why I did not know how to do this myself…

check out the tutorial here - http://simplestreetblog.com/ps-101-add-image-to-text/

here is my finished result ! (photograph is my own)

My Pa…

I have been going through old photos at home & scanning them to keep a record…there are so many amazing photos & it scares me that they could be so easily lost (some probably have been lost already) this is my Pa, when he was very young between the years of 1939 - 1946…. He always had a cheeky smile & would walk around whistling & singing to himself…a very happy chap indeed…

from top left : Pa on the right, doing the washing, cigarette hanging out of his mouth: Pa on the right again (obviously): Pa standing on the steps (middle of the group, ciggee hanging out of his mouth again): Pa on the right, looking dashing in his uniform…

a beautiful DIY countryside wedding….found on Once Wed.

See more from the day here - http://www.oncewed.com/53222/wedding-blog/real-weddings/a-diy-countryside-wedding-celebration/

I just love the whole feel of the day, the bride’s dress, her headpiece, the BOOTS!, the grooms style, the beautiful wood decor, mason jars & the love… the.love.

Pa’s War Medals - John (Jack) Locking

I was talking to a friend about the lost diggers story I saw on channel 7 a few months ago - if you missed it have a read over here  »>

I couldn’t believe that our own government didn’t show any interest in having a record of these incredibly insightful images, (luckily the channel 7 boss did & you can see the images here - http://www.facebook.com/lostdiggers ) but it got me thinking, I didn’t know much at all about my own family ‘s history….. while the above story is on WW1 my Pa was in WW2… so I’m starting with my Pa (my mothers father) I have scanned & photographed his War medals & I hope to get some images of him from that time as well….

this is my salute to you Pa. Thankyou.

2012 - it’s here !

so it’s about this time that everyone is making ‘new years resolutions’ but I prefer to look at it as a year-long ‘to-do’ list…. I have been searching the web for inspiring images, quotes & other bits & pieces that will fit into what I see for myself in this coming year… If you are stumped as to how to put something like this together then I suggest you take a little look over here - http://inspacesbetween.com/insights/from-where-you-are-to-where-you-want-to-be/ Rach at In Spaces Between nails it ! It definitely helped me to dream big & create something inspiring for 2012.

(starting from the top)

Aiden & I - although we were married last year, I never want to forget that feeling of absolute bliss on our wedding day, to remind myself of it every day, even on the bad days (especially on the bad days!) & on the good days. It will always be him.

Moving states - in March (or close to) we are moving from our comfortable home on the Gold Coast, to a city (yet to be decided) Sydney or Melbourne!

Reaching my goal weight - for the past 4 months Aiden & I have been trying to get into some sort of fitness routine, eating well & regular exercising. Aiden has already lost 10kgs ! I have lost 3kgs! so I definitely want to shed some more weight !

Be inspired - I hope that moving will give me the good kick up the butt I need…

Travel more - even if it’s a weekend getaway, it needs to be done more often ! I definitely need to learn to relax a bit more….

and finally the big one….

DREAM: of creating personalised wedding decorations/hosting parties/& photographing them! I have been thinking about this ever since I made the decorations for our wedding..it was a lot of work (but I really enjoyed it) and I just want to spread the love! I have never really offered out my services to anyone & trying to think of how to do that leaves me absolutely speechless…so this is the big goal….my dream…to do something I love everyday rather than just working a day job to pay the rent….
